Basement Squirrel Games is a one-person (plus friends) tabletop game project. This page covers everything we do with personal information on this site.
What we collect
From everyone who visits: anonymous page-view counts via Vercel Web Analytics. No cookies, no tracking across other sites, and no way to tie a view back to a specific person — Vercel hashes IPs and the data is aggregated before it reaches us. We use it to know which pages are read and which aren't.
From newsletter subscribers: your first name and email address, plus a record of which emails you open and click. That's the only personal information tied to you individually. We never ask for anything else.
What we do with it
- Newsletter datagoes toward sending you occasional updates about our games — typically once a month, more often during a crowdfunding campaign. We also use the open/click record to automatically unsubscribe people who've stopped engaging, so we're not cluttering inboxes.
- Analytics datatells us which pages are being read and on what kinds of devices, in aggregate. It doesn't identify individual visitors.
We don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone outside the tools below.
Who else sees it
We use a few third-party services to run the site:
- MailerLite stores subscriber details and sends the newsletter. MailerLite privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts the website itself. Vercel privacy policy.
- Vercel Web Analytics collects anonymous, cookie-less page-view counts. No personal data, no tracking across sites.
How to opt out
Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you're out — no questions. You can also reply to any email and ask us to remove you.
If you've never subscribed and want to make sure we have no record of you, email us at hello@basementsquirrelgames.com and we'll confirm.
Cookies
We don't set any cookies. Vercel may set a small number of essential cookies for caching and DDoS protection; these don't identify you.
Changes to this page
If we update this page meaningfully, we'll update the date at the top. Substantive changes will also be announced in the newsletter.
